About Me
My name is Amy Blustein
Over the years, I have become known not just for delivering successful
communications strategy, but for bringing experience, perspective,
personality, and a calm demeanor to the table.
My motto is "Respond. Don't react."
For more than 30 years, I have worked on campaigns and led in-house communications teams across the health care industry – from small community hospitals to regional medical centers, academic medical centers, comprehensive health systems, and health insurance. I am also a proud part-time faculty member in the Department of Public Relations and Journalism at the University of Rhode Island (go Rhody!).
In 2025, I launched Blustein Communications Consulting, providing strategic messaging, corporate communications, and crisis management to health care, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations. My work is consistently focused on meeting people where they are, using plain language and compelling storytelling to empower decision-making. I have the unique ability to jump right in and become an extension of your team with proven communications strategy and counsel.
